I have a long standing association with Bugatti cars. Responsibilities as a director trustee of the Bugatti Trust since 1995 include ongoing PR effort, development of educational material for KS1,2,3, improvement of visitors’ experience and liaison with educational establishments involved in the Bugatti Trust awards schemes. Recent focus on social media includes creation and promotion of a Facebook group, an active Twitter feed to network within the museum, heritage, motoring and education communities as well as to connect with local media and events. Other activities include ongoing press advice, improving social media and e-newsletters reach and generating and implementing new activities such as the Trust’s first ever artist residency with Stefan Marjoram which was possibly a first for a UK motoring museum. http://www.bugatti-trust.co.uk/
The Bugatti Trust is an independent Charitable Trust whose objectives are to preserve and make available for study the works of Ettore Bugatti to raise awareness of the importance of aesthetics and integrated design in engineering by his example. It was formed in 1987 by the late Hugh Conway supported by a small group of Bugatti enthusiasts. Hugh Conway was an acknowledged expert on Bugatti history and well known internationally through his books, other writings and personal contacts. His remarkable collection of period photographs, technical drawings, letters and articles form the basis of the Bugatti Trust archive which we continue to expand and develop. Access to the Bugatti Trust’s archive was significantly enhanced in 1990 through the opening of our Prescott Visitor Centre by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh.
